“I haven’t thought about it like that before.”
Ever caught yourself saying this?
In that aha moment, you opened yourself up to another way of seeing the world.
In that moment, the circumstances didn’t change. Rather, it’s your interpretation of the circumstances that changed, unlocking new perspectives and possibilities.
Oftentimes, these new interpretations are provoked by something external to you, whether that’s another person, an event, social pressure, etc.
You can, however, learn how to provoke these new interpretations within yourself and practice the skill of discovering and considering different interpretations.
By developing this skill of being open to interpretation, you’re widening your aperture of the world and honing your abilities to understand different perspectives and notice new possibilities—superpowers when it comes to innovation.
