Who:<\/strong> Who is your project for? Who needs to be involved and who needs to know what? Who has ownership and accountability for what?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2. What:<\/strong> What\u2019s your project for? What are your goals? What does success look like?\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>3. Where:<\/strong> Where are you shipping your work (what\u2019s the medium)? Where is the primary home for team communications?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4. When:<\/strong> When are your deadlines? When are you expected to provide updates?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>5. Why:<\/strong> Why are you doing this project (i.e. shared purpose)?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>&amp; How:<\/strong> How have you agreed to go about working together (i.e. work agreements)? How are you going to get the project done (i.e. processes, tools, technology, resources)?\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These questions aren\u2019t an exhaustive diagnostic, but they\u2019re a great starting place. When you\u2019re detecting team alignment issues, more often than not your team is misaligned on one or more of these Five Ws &amp; How.
