Collaborate."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Collaboration isn\u2019t merely a feel-good trend or a buzzword to slip into an organization\u2019s values page or marketing material.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Innovation is a social process and effective collaboration is critical to thriving, inclusive organizations and teams that harness the power of diversity to better tackle intractable problems in today\u2019s competitive and fast-paced landscape.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Many leaders rank collaboration as one of the most critical factors to innovation success, but many teams and organizations struggle to collaborate and settle for compromise instead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The problem is that compromising and collaborating are not the same thing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Enter Merriam Webster dictionary:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/compromise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">Compromise<\/span><\/a>: settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/collaboration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">Collaboration<\/span><\/a>: to work jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">In the finite game of compromising, everyone loses, at least a little.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">In the infinite game of collaboration, everyone wins. Effective collaboration is inclusive, generative, and expansive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Are you stuck in a game of compromise when you mean to be collaborating?
